Wren Adair Hollis. A grown woman with the radio on.
Arianna Road
The Story
Arianna Road is the soft, romantic-country side of MusAIc by ~MAK — a back road running alongside The Reed Township Band, where the songs slow down and lean in. Every release rides under "The A Side." Out front is Wren Adair Hollis: forty-six, classically trained, born down South and raised in West Fargo from her teens — and if you listen close, the South never quite left her voice. She's got two gears and nothing between them — a soft, held restraint for the ballads and a harder, top-down belt for the up-tempo ones. She sings grown-woman songs: confident, flirty, proud, and every so often kitchen-table quiet. She's the star, but she's not out there alone. Doc Lattimore crosses over from The Reed Township Band to trade verses when a song wants two voices. And under all of it sits Cass Holloway — pedal steel and harmonica, more felt than heard, keeping bees and a greenhouse when he's off the road and keeping the song honest when he's on it. He's in nearly every mix and steps up only when it counts, never taking the lead. The A Side: Every Kind of Tuesday is twelve of these — ordinary days that turn out to be the whole story, because every kind of Tuesday counts if you're paying attention.
